Caballo Rojo Ranch is nestled amongst the majestic native pecan trees
on the east bank of the Brazos River near Hempstead, Texas. The ranch
occupies a portion of the original Jared Groce survey.
Jared Groce was a member of Stephen F. Austin's "Old Three-Hundred" colonists that settled the area in 1823. In the
census of 1826, Jared Groce was classified as both a farmer and a
stockman. Continuing the stockman tradition of these early settlers,
as well as that of our fathers, Caballo Rojo Ranch strives to produce
the utmost in excellence in both American Quarter Horses and
American Gray Brahmans.
At Caballo Rojo Ranch, we believe that the Quarter Horse and the Gray
Brahman are AMERICA'S BREED and AMERICA'S contribution to the world
agriculture markets. It is our goal to continue in this American tradition of
breeding, producing, and promoting the finest, most versatile, productive
and well-minded animals.
We specialize in raising quality reining horses and performance horses and the cornerstone of our program are top quality mares. We believe that we have some of the best
mares in the country and we intend to continue increasing our mare
herd in order to provide you with some of the best reining horses and performance horses available.
Our goal is exemplified by our intense concentration of genetics, we never
lose sight of the fact that you, our customer, will be the ultimate judge
