AJBA News

Hey y’all,

My name is Ty Hebert and I am the treasurer of the American Junior Brahman Association. I have raised and exhibited Brahman cattle my entire life and it truly is a special honor to serve the Brahman Breed in its junior organization. I am the son of James and Charlsie Hebert and have two older sisters, Alysse Hebert and Hillarie Stein, who were also directors on the AJBA board. Even though I graduate in two years, it is truly a blessing to be able to say that my new Niece, Lusie Paige Stein, will carry on the tradition of showing Brahman cattle along with keeping Lollie and Gampa on their toes. Nevertheless I am so thankful for the Brahman Breed and what it has done to shape me as a person and a young leader in this new bustling generation. I am humbled to be able to serve such amazing juniors and would not trade my role for the world. I hope everyone has a great start to the New Year!

Sincerely,
Ty

Hey y’all!

My name is Ashley Pugh, and I live in Ethel, Louisiana, where my grandfather and I raise Brahman cattle. I am a sophomore at Slaughter Community Charter School, where I am co-captain of the cheerleading squad, and I am the pitcher for the softball team.

I was recently honored to serve on the SCCS Homecoming Court as Sophomore Maid. Besides my school activities, I am active in 4-H, serving as President of my school’s 4-H Club, and I am a member of the Feliciana Livestock Club. I also serve on the state level as President of the Louisiana Junior Cattleman’s Asso. and Vice President of the Louisiana Jr. Brahman Asso. Having grown up on a cattle farm, the value of hard work and the responsibility of taking care of animals were instilled in me from a young age. My life has always involved caring for and working with Brahman cattle, and I look forward to continuing to build my herd for the rest of my life. My grandfather, Lamar Pugh, has been an incredible source of mentorship as he continues to pass down his knowledge and help me with my cows. It is my honor and privilege to serve as a Director of the American Junior Brahman Association. I have competed at the All-American National Brahman Show for six years, and I am so proud to be able to serve on the board and give back to a show that has given so much to me and other junior showmen. There is nothing that builds character and discipline like showing cattle, and I am very excited to share my love of the Brahman breed with others. Good luck to everyone this year!
