What began with Rachel and Mollie Cutrer setting up a little table at a Farmers Market using two borrowed Igloo coolers from Rachel’s grandmother, Mollie Williams, has grown into one of the nation’s most unique and successful Brahman beef programs.

Since 2018, Brahman Country Beef has processed over 225 purebred Brahman steers, shipping nationwide and serving customers coast-to-coast. In 2024, we shipped beef to over 20 U.S. states, with our best-selling product being the Brahman hump, followed closely by ground beef.

They started by selling at farmers markets in Wharton and Rosenberg, where Rachel and Brandon shared the Brahman story and sold beef directly to customers. As demand grew, we opened a brick-and-mortar retail store, The Ranch Downtown, in 2022. In just the past three years, we’ve proudly served over 12,000 customers at our store, helping people discover the unique flavor, tenderness, and health benefits of Brahman beef.

As members of the Texas Farm Fresh Network, we also supply Brahman beef to local schools, ensuring students have access to fresh, high-quality protein.

This beef program has been a tremendous learning experience, transforming how we approach cattle selection, management, and profitability at BRC Ranch. It’s taught us firsthand:

The importance of feed efficiency—cattle that gain well on fewer days and with less feed.

How moderate frame size often correlates to higher efficiency and profitability.

That muscle matters—more muscle equals more beef, more product per animal, and higher revenue.

And that customers demand choice-grade beef or higher, so we focus our breeding and feeding programs accordingly.

We meticulously track each sire used in the program to understand which genetics consistently produce the most profitable steers. Th is data-driven approach has led us to expand the use of certain sires—and discontinue others. As demand for Brahman Country Beef has grown, we’ve also partnered with like-minded ranchers, preferably those using BRC genetics, to source additional steers and meet our customers’ needs.

At the heart of it all, we believe every Brahman breeder should experience a program like this—because it’s one thing to talk about EPDs and breed traits, but it’s another to see how those decisions directly impact real-world profitability when you’re selling beef by the pound.

Brahman Country Beef isn’t just a product—it’s a story of learning, innovation, and bringing the best of the Brahman breed to dinner tables across America.

• 979-488-4164
• 111 SOUTH POLK STREET, WHARTON, TX 77488
• SHOPBRAHMANCOUNTRYBEEF.COM

[19,9

0":"post-19326","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-brahman-news","8":"category-current-news
["GET
