On September 4, Neogen announced it had acquired Livestock Genetic Service. After speaking with John Genho, the ABBA staff learned that there would be very few changes to the ABBA registration system. The contract is being transferred to Neogen as it currently stands so all the terms will be identical. ABBA will continue to work directly with the programmer Zach Johnson, who will continue to be the main architect for the registration system. Because of the acquisition, the registration system will pick up some additional capabilities that will be built in over time. These include credit card processing and e-commerce. The biggest change will be how the DNA results interact with the registration system, which is expected to be a positive change. Breeders will still have the option of choosing which lab will process their DNA tests.<\/p>\n
