ST Genetics Brahman Championship Series Evaluation Program

The 2024 Brahman Championships Series ™ was a tremendous success. 136 heads from fourteen different breeders. 97 Heifers and thirty-eight bulls born from June to November 2023, 39 sires and 89 dams were represented in this test. Five different award categories were assigned to bulls and heifers: Feed Efficiency Champion, Average Daily Gain Champion, Sustainability Champion, Carcass Champion and Performance Champion.

FEED EFFICIENCY CHAMPIONS
These are the animals that we do more with less, these two animals gain above average consuming significantly less than expected. Feed efficiency is determined using a trait known as residual feed intake.

AVERAGE DAILY GAIN CHAMPIONS
Average Daily Gain (ADG) can be defined as the average amount of weight a market animal will gain each day during the feeding period. ADG can be calculated by taking the amount of weight an animal has gained since the last weight and dividing the weight by the number of days since that last weight.

The first ST Genetics Brahman Championship Series Evaluation program was a successful endeavor, and a second test began November 25, 2024.
