The American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) is pleased to announce the addition of Shelby Schiefelbein of College Station, Texas to the administrative and management team. Shelby is a 2018 graduate of Texas A&M University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and a minor in Business Administration. She will officially begin her new position with ABBA on June 1, 2018.
In addition to being employed as a student at Texas A&M, Schiefelbein previously served in numerous internship capacities including Cactus Feeders, Amarillo, TX, the Meeker County, MN 4-H, and 3 years with Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Additionally, she has held active business roles with her family’s highlyrespected Angus operation “Schiefelbein Farms” in Kimball, Minnesota.
“Shelby brings a wealth of enthusiasm, a proven internal drive and propensity for hard work to the team and will provide exceptional leadership to both the American Junior Brahman Association (AJBA) and ABBA,” said Bill Bunce, ABBA Executive Vice-President. “Her expertise in communications will help advance the Association’s communication efforts both internally and externally to our membership.” As the Director of Youth programs she will lead the way on the management of the All American Show, and the development of educational outreach to AJBA.
In the area of communication, she will coordinate and contribute to the associations multimedia efforts by developing literature, articles and assisting in the production of web-sites and social media platforms. Through regular contact with membership, often in a field capacity, she will serve in an integral role in a comprehensive communication effort to promote the American Brahman breed and association key strategies around the world.
