The Rio Grande Valley Brahman and F1 Association awarded more than $10,000 in premiums and awards to Brahman juniors at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show held in Mercedes, Texas March 13 and at the Rio Grande Valley Brahman Futurity held at the LMC $ellabration March 24.
The 6th Annual Association Showmanship Clinic and Show was a huge success, awarding prizes to the top three in each of the five divisions. Morgan Thomas was the clinic presenter and judge.
At the 6th Annual Rio Grande Valley Brahman Steer Show, Maiah Duarte from the San Perlita FFA won Grand Champion at the with her 4F-England Cattle Company steer. Ariana Cantu from the Mission FFA won Reserve Grand with her 4F Cattle Company steer, both champions were sired by V8 279/7 (P). Beth Quintanilla from the Edinburg North FFA won 3rd overall with her LMC-Quintanilla steer, sired by LMC Polled Madison.
The following week, the Brahman Heifer Futurity was held at La Muneca Ranch. The showmanship judge was Rogelio Mercado and the cattle judge was Webb Fields.
The Champion heifer was LMC LN Polled Daisy. She was sired by Polled Pathfinder and shown by Kendyl Sellman.
Reserve Champion honors went to Carlos X. “Pops” Guerra III with LMC Polled Faith sired by +LMC LF Ambassador.
