Hey Y’all! I’m Savannah Wade and I’m from the great sunshine state of Florida. I am 18 years old and I am currently attending Hillsborough Community College for my Associates Degree. I plan to transfer to the University of Florida to major in Animal Science and Ranch Management. I am the current FJBA President and the AJBA Treasurer for the 2020-2021 year!
My past and current involvement with FFA, the Florida Junior Brahman Association, and the American Junior Brahman Association helped solidify my desire to have a career within the cattle and livestock industry.
My involvement in the junior associations have helped strengthen my leadership skills and to grow as a person. I have been blessed over the last 7 years to be surrounded and guided by some amazing people who genuinely cared about my future. They have provided me with opportunities and helped make me a determined and caring woman. As a current officer for the FJBA, the AJBA, and as a fellow Brahman breeder, I want to have the same impact past members and fellow breeders alike have had on me. I hope I can ignite a passion in others for the Brahman breed and the cattle industry as a whole.
I graduated from high school in May 2020. Half of my senior year and the end of my junior show career was interrupted because of the pandemic. I think this made me appreciate things a little more. Have a little more meaning. I would love to be able to go back in time and recreate those special moments from shows and traveling we have experienced, but not because of the awards won or lost, but for the time spent with family and friends making great memories. My advice for any livestock exhibitor is that although winning may seem like everything; the memories made, the things learned, and the time spent with those you love matter more than any buckle or banner. I am grateful to be part of this Brahman family. Happy Thanksgiving and spend this time with your family to make unforgettable memories!
