AJBA American Junior Brahman Association

Hi Ya’ll! My name is Chloe Briggs and I am serving as the AJBA Director from The Sunshine State (Florida). I am a Sophomore in High School. I am the current FJBA Queen and Volusia County Cattleman’s Sweetheart. I have served at multiple levels within my state organization and currently serve as FJBA Treasurer. This will be my 7th year as an active AJBA Member. I have a passion for agriculture and the Brahman Breed.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS TBJ:

What made you choose Brahman cattle?

Chloe: I started showing Brangus cattle when I was 10 years old. At the time my family raised commercial cows. We decided to venture into the Registered Brahman world. Brahman Cattle have unique qualities including heat resistance that make them the ideal breed for hot climates like Florida.

BJ: Who has helped you in the Brahman Industry?

Chloe: I have been blessed to have several breeders in my corner over the years that have helped me along the way. The first breeder that welcomed and helped me in the association was Drew Tucker. Others that have helped me along the way include Jim-Bob Trant, Shep Batson, and Garit Cooper. Mr. Drew and Mr. Garit have been two of my biggest supporters through the years and always cheer me on.

TBJ:How do you see the brahman breed changing in the future?

Chloe: In the future I hope more ranchers will see the value in Brahman Cattle and the many benefits to adding Brahman to their herds. I would like to see more restaurants serve Brahman Beef. The more we advocate for Brahman Cattle the more we will increase people’s knowledge and understanding of them in the future.
