In 2024 the ABBA will be hosting the 21st World Brahman Congress and we will also celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the ABBA. This will be an exciting year for the American Brahman Breeders Association, and we hope Brahman breeders from around the globe will join us in this celebration.
In March the ABBA Executive Committee approved the appointment of Michael Martin as the Chairman of the World Brahman Congress 2024/ABBA 100th Anniversary Celebration.
Michael has hit the ground running, evaluating facilities and locations for this great event. Michael is scheduled to present location, date and other information for the ABBA Board to vote on at the June board meeting in Mercedes, Texas. This Board meeting will be held at the same time as the AJBA All-American Show. I hope everyone can attend the meeting to hear what options Michael will have for us to consider and approve. If you can, stay and watch the AJBA All-American after the meetings. You will not be disappointed in watching all the Brahman youth at this event, as it is the best event for Junior cattleman in the USA.
We look forward to hosting the World Brahman Congress in 2024, as this will be a tremendous opportunity for American breeders to display our cattle and ranches to the world. We feel confident with Michael at the helm, and with the help of volunteers from the breed, this World Brahman Congress and 100th Anniversary Party will be a once in a lifetime event.
We have appointed a committee to work with Michael on this event that includes a number of people. If you feel like you could help, or would like to participate in the planning and scheduling of this great event, please contact Michael Martin at 409-739-5091 or email him at WBC2024@brahman.org.
We will need a number of volunteers in specialized sub-committees to work on all the projects we have in mind for this event. There will be the following committees: Sale Committee, Trade Show Committee, Gala Committee, Ranch Tours and Transportation Committee, Conference and Education Committee, Show Committee, Communications Committee, and Welcome and Registration Committee.
We are excited about making this World Brahman Congress something to remember and it goes without saying, celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the ABBA will certainly be an event you will not want to miss.
It will take a lot of work and dedication to make this a spectacular event, and we thank Michael in advance. We are looking forward to this 21st Congress where we can showcase what the American Brahman has done for the world and the beef industry.
Thank you,
Barry Smith
