The Louisiana Brahman Association sponsored its 20th Annual F1 and Registered/Purebred Brahman Female Sale on March 24, 2018 at Dominique’s Livestock Market in Opelousas, La.
The sale played out to a great crowd and there was lots of demand for Brahman and Brahman-influenced cattle.
Fifty-three open F1 heifers sold for $74,575 and averaged $1,407. The high-selling opens were consigned by Glaser Farms and sold for $1,950. Sixty-five head of F1 bred heifers sold for $145,400 and averaged $2,236. The high-selling bred heifers sold for $3,000 a piece and were consigned by Seven L Cattle. Forty-nine head of pairs sold for $124,925 and averaged $2,595. There was a tie for high-selling pair consignments; both Triple Son Farms and J Gerald Menard sold pairs for $3,000.
There were many quality consignments, but the champion pens honors were as follows: Champion F1 open pen was won by V-Cross Ranch, the Champion F1 Pair pen was won by K Bar Farms and the Champion F1 bred pen was won by Grace Ranch Cattle Company.
