Written by Chris Shivers

On April 26, 2025, RedSmith Genetics, Sandglass Ranch and KI Cattle Company joined forces to host the 3 Brands, 1 Vision Brahman Sale at the Texas A&M University Beef Center in College Station, Texas. The 3 Brands, 1 Vision Brahman Sale was started to represent a collaborative effort among three distinguished Brahman cattle operations, unified by a shared commitment to genetic excellence and breed advancement. To enhance this offering each principal invited up to 3 guest consignors making this a multi-breeder event. This sale will become an annual event to share quality cattle within the Brahman industry, offering a carefully curated selection of elite genetics to progressive breeders across the region and beyond.

The 2025 event saw the sale of 62 lots, consisting of pairs, bred cows, bred heifers, exposed heifers, open heifers, pregnant recipients, aspirations, female sexed embryos and semen, culminating in a total gross revenue of $356,500. In addition to the sale, attendees were able to enjoy the amenities of the College Station area, a pre-sale dinner featuring a whole roasted pig and coconut shrimp, and live entertainment.

The upscale evening and superior offering drew extreme interest with 55 registered buyers in person and via Cattle in Motion. The offering was sold to 33 buyers from Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mexico. The average lot price across all categories was $5,242.65, underscoring the value placed on high-quality breeding stock and reproductive assets. The mature female segment was particularly strong, accounting for 33 head and a combined revenue of $202,000, averaging $6,121 per head. Within this category, bred cows stood out, averaging $8,150, the highest among the mature offerings. Pairs followed at $5,357 per head, with bred heifers averaging $4,500. Replacement heifers and a single pregnant recipient also contributed meaningfully to the total.

Open heifers were in steady demand, with 18 head selling for a combined $100,500, averaging $5,583 each. These young females reflected both genetic potential and strong conformation. Progressive genetic packages also drew considerable attention. Two aspirations averaged $10,250. Six total embryos averaged $1,875 each, and semen interest packages commanded an average of $5,833, while individual semen units sold for $150 on average. Altogether, these genetics-related offerings contributed over $50,000 to the sale’s total, highlighting a strategic emphasis on breeding innovation. Among the sale’s standout lots, Lot 2 – MISS HC KELLY 141/0, brought the highest bid of the day at $18,000. This proven donor was consigned by KI Cattle Company and purchased by 76 Ranch of Timpson, TX.

Other top-performing lots included Lot 43 – Aspiration on REDSMITH ELODIE MANSO 110/3 consigned by Southern Grant Ranch, which sold for $16,000 to Indian Feather Ranch of Knott, TX, and Lot 21 – MISS RB 605/3 a consignment by Sandglass Ranch, purchased for $13,000 by Lone Wolf Ranch of Stockton, MO. These high-value purchases exemplified the top-end demand for exceptional phenotype and pedigree. At the buyer level, Indian Feather Ranch (Knott, TX) emerged as the day’s leading purchaser. Lone Wolf Ranch (Stockton, MO) followed closely further solidifying their ongoing herd improvement program. Other key buyers included KI Cattle Company of San Augustine, TX, V8 Ranch of Boling, TX, and Roman Salmoran from Mexico.

The participation of out-of-state buyers underscored the event’s geographic reach, and the national reputation of the consignments offered.
