AJBA News

Jewel ThompsonHey guys, my name is Jewel Thompson. This fall I will be a senior at Beauregard High School, graduating in 2022. I have shown cattle since 2013 but didn’t get my first Brahman until 2016. Since then I have really fallen in love with the breed. In addition to showing cattle I also serve on the Alabama Cattlemen’s Junior Board of Directors and was recently selected as the Central Alabama FFA Treasurer. I am also a member of our state All Star Livestock Judging team. My success can be attributed to the leadership and support I have been shown within the industry. I am wrapping up my term as your at-large director. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve on the AJBA board with some amazing young people. I have met so many new friends and learned so much about the breed. I can’t wait to serve the association one more time at All American this summer! I look forward to seeing you all there! If I could offer any advice to juniors it would be step out of your comfort zone, try new contests, meet new people, and always engage new members. If you are interested in AJBA please reach out to one of our junior board members, we would love for you to join the fun. See you in Hattiesburg where Brahmans will be in bloom!
