Broken Triangle Cattle Marketing owned by the Charanza family of Caldwell, Texas, and Caldwell Livestock Commission, owned by the Herrmann family of Caldwell, Texas, managed the sale. The ABBA dedicated this year’s sale to Jon Weil of Weil Cattle Company for his commitment to the Brahman and Brahman commercial cattle industry and his influential involvement in the formation of the ABBA F1 program. Weil, along with his late wife Laura, formed Reputation Cattle Company and raised, bought, and sold primarily F1 Brahman females coast to coast. During this era, he approached ABBA about a certification program for F1 Brahman females. Weil conducted the first J. D. Hudgins F1 Invitational Sale after the F1 Certification Program was initiated. Weil is currently in partnership with his son and his family, J. Mac, Amy, Joe Mac, and Jake Ray Weil in an elite Hereford program.
