45th Annual CBBA Sale

The 45th Annual Carolinas Brahman Breeders Association Annual Sale was held Saturday, June 7 at Laurens Livestock in Laurens, South Carolina.

More than 50 lots of quality Brahman and Brahman-influenced cattle sold, including show prospects, cow-calf pairs, bred heifers, herd sire prospects and some very fancy F1 females.

The sale was managed by Philip Gilstrap and Asa Lee and was broadcast live on bestcattlesales.com.

The elite registered Brahman cattle offering attracted many bidders from across the country, and the averages were as follows: haltered heifers – $7,250, pairs – $5,750, bulls – $4,833, bred heifers – $3,916, and open heifers – $3,625.

The F1 lot averages were as follows: F1 bred heifers – $5,250, F1 pairs – $4,416, and F1 open heifers – $2,787.50. The high selling F1 lot was a choice lot consigned by Mast Farms and sold for $6,000 each with both animals going to Promise Land Cattle.

Brahman Bucks for top F1 lots were awarded at the event by The American Brahman Breeders Association. First Place honors went to Ken Mast of Mast Farms. Second and third place awards went to pens consigned by Dan Fehr of Hollow Oak.
