9th Annual Southern Classic Brahman & F1 Sale

The 9th Annual Southern Classic Brahman and F1 Sale was held Saturday, April 11, at Gulf Regional Livestock in Lucedale, Mississippi.

Philip Gilstrap, of P&G Auction Company, along with Asa Lee managed the sale. Philip Gilstrap also served as auctioneer. The duo curated an elite offering of cattle from around the southern United States, which was met with strong market demand and enthusiastic bidding.

Sale averages were as follows:

• Brahman pairs: $6,450
• Brahman bred cows: $4,875
• Brahman haltered heifers: $6,337.50
• Brahman open heifers: $4,216.66
• Brahman bulls: $4,840
• Hereford bulls: $6,300
• Angus bulls: $8,250
• F1 pairs: $5,483.50
• F1 breds: $6,462.59
• F1 open heifers: $3,754

The high-selling lot was Lot 171, a bred Simbrah female consigned by MHL Cattle Company and sold for $11,000.
