From the desk of the ABBA Executive Vice President

Greetings from the ABBA office. As you are reading this, the excitement for the 2020 International Brahman Show and Sale are building among many. I would like to officially welcome our International Guest to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, International Brahman Show and Sale. I look forward to meeting many of our International guest as they attend the events in HoustonProvide a means by which a producer or user of Brahman genetics may capture carcass data in a real world setting to understand the beef producing ability of their cattle.

We had some outstanding committee and directors meeting while attending the Fort Worth Stock Show. I look forward to working with this great group of individuals as we move the Brahman breed forward in 2020. I also enjoyed visiting with so many breeders that exhibited cattle during the show.

February was very active for the Brahman breed with sales, shows and the gathering of steers for the 2020 EAR program. I was able to work with some very progressive breed executives as we taped a session for the NCBA Cattlemen to Cattlemen. I also had the opportunity to attend the American Breeds Coalition meeting while at the San Antonio Stock Show to visit and collaborate with the other American Breeds. The Brahman Breed also saw a great demand for Brahman genetics during the San Antonino All Breeds Sale. Thanks to the many breeders that consigned a great group of cattle and congratulations to the division winners.

During the ABBA Annual meeting in Houston we will be recognizing many breeders, friends and supporters of the ABBA. Please read the great columns in this month’s Brahman Journal that have been written about our special award recipients. I am excited every day to be working for the ABBA and have enjoyed my time working with many members that make the Brahman Breed what it is.

As we move into the spring and our sale season, I encourage you to watch for ads and e-blast for great Brahman and F1 genetics that will be sold to enhance your herd. If you have questions about upcoming sales and have not seen the advertisements please contact the ABBA office so we can get you in touch with the sales management.

As I close my column I want to once again welcome our International Guest to Houston, and want to wish our exhibitors and sale consignors good luck.

If I can ever help you please feel free to contact me. See you down the road,

Joe Mask
